How we approach it
Water rarely gets in where it shows up
A stain on a bedroom ceiling almost never sits directly under the hole. Water tracks along rafters, runs down the back of a flashing and pools on a felt lap before it finds a way through the plaster. Chase the stain and you end up sealing the wrong thing — which is exactly why so many roofs get patched twice.
We work the other way round. We look at the roof, the loft and the room, work out the likely path, and check the details that actually fail: flashings, valleys, upstands, mortar fillets, and anything that has been sealed with mastic by somebody in a hurry. Then we tell you what needs doing and what does not.
- Roof, loft and ceiling all inspected
- Photographs of what we find, before we quote
- Root cause fixed, not just the symptom
- Honest advice on repair versus replacement
What we repair
The failures we see most often
Different roofs, same shortlist of culprits. These are the repairs that come up week in, week out across London.
Slipped & broken tiles
Replaced and re-fixed, with the failed nail or batten behind them dealt with so the same tiles stay put.
Failed flashings
Chimneys, abutments and parapets re-dressed in lead where mortar fillets or mastic have cracked and let go.
Flat roof splits
Blisters, splits and open laps cut out and re-bonded, with the deck checked underneath for trapped water.
Valley & gutter leaks
Blocked and corroded valleys, parapet gutters and rainwater goods cleared, re-lined or replaced.
Storm damage
Wind-lifted coverings, dislodged ridges and impact damage made safe first, then repaired properly.
Chimney leaks
Flaunching, pointing, soakers and trays put right where damp is tracking down the stack into the room below.
What to look for
When to call about a roof repair
Roof problems get more expensive the longer they run, because the damage moves from the roof into the structure below it.
- A damp patch that grows or reappears after heavy rain
- Water running down a chimney breast or an internal wall
- Tiles or slates on the ground after a windy night
- Daylight or drips visible in the loft
- Peeling paint or bubbling plaster on an upstairs ceiling
- A musty smell in a loft or top-floor room
- A repair that has already been done and has not held
If water is actively coming in, call us rather than emailing — urgent leaks are prioritised and we run a 24 hour call-out.

Roof Repairs FAQs
Your questions, answered
The questions we get asked most about this work. If yours isn't here, just ask — we're happy to explain.
How quickly can you come out to a leak?
We prioritise anything where water is actively getting in, and we operate a 24 hour call-out for emergencies. Tell us when you get in touch that water is coming in and we will treat it accordingly rather than putting you in the normal queue.
How much does a roof repair cost?
It depends entirely on what has failed and how the roof is accessed — a couple of slipped tiles reachable from a ladder is a very different job to a parapet gutter that needs scaffolding. We do not quote blind over the phone. We come and look, and the written quotation we give you is itemised so you can see what you are paying for.
Will you tell me if the roof needs replacing rather than repairing?
Yes, and we would rather have that conversation early. If a roof is near the end of its life, repeated repairs cost more over a few years than doing the job once. Equally, if a roof has plenty of life left we will say so rather than talking you into a replacement.
Can you find a leak if it only happens sometimes?
Intermittent leaks are usually the most revealing ones. A leak that only shows in driving rain from one direction points at a flashing or a verge; one that shows after prolonged rain points at ponding or a saturated deck. We use when and how it appears as part of the diagnosis.
Do you work on insurance claims?
We do undertake insurance work. We can provide photographs of the damage and a written, itemised quotation that you can pass to your insurer. Whether the claim is accepted is between you and them, but we will give you the documentation to support it.
Are your repairs guaranteed?
Yes. Our workmanship is backed by a 25 year guarantee and the cover that applies to your particular repair is confirmed in writing in your quotation.
